Fruit Dessert Elegant

1 pkg (3oz) raspberry jello
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup boiling water
1 pkg. (10oz) thawed raspberries
1 can (8-3/4 oz) crushed pineapple
1 cup sour cream
2 medium bananas sliced
1 cup mini marshmallows
1/2 to 1 cup chopped walnuts, if desired

Dissolve jello, sugar and salt in boiling water; drain raspberries and pineapple - saving 3/4 cup of combined syrups; Add measured syrups to gelatin mix; Chill until very thick; Then whip* until fluffy - beat sour cream until smooth, fold into gelatin mixture. Stir in fruits, marshmallows & nuts. Chill 15 minutes - then stir and spoon into a 2-quart bowl. Chill until firm.

*When whipping jello, beat until mixture is fluffy and thick, about double in volume.

This recipe was given to me by my long-time friend Tracie at my bridal shower. She and I have been friends since we were 4. We were in Blue Birds together in Ellensburg and wrote to each other often after I moved away.
