**This recipe requires the use of a "Starter" mixture.
If Starter not used in 2 weeks, ADD 1/2 tsp. sugar or 1 Tbsp. milk and 1 Tbsp. flour and let stand at room temperature for several hours.
MIX:
1/4 cup Sour Dough Starter
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
Let stand 8 hours (overnight) in covered glass or metal bowl. In the morning put 1/4 cup of the mixture back in starter container and stir. keep starter in refrigerator.
To the starter mixture ADD:
2 eggs
3 Tbsp. oil
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Mix the contents and fry waffles in butter in a moderately hot (350 degrees) waffle iron. Makes 3 large waffles. Can be doubled/tripled/quadrupled!
This recipe came from Papa Dick. He makes these yummy waffles every time we visit! The kids love them. We cover the waffles in things like syrup, fresh fruit, and whipped cream. Thank you Papa!
