Cowboy Cookies

1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup shortening
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1-1/2 cups Quick Quaker oats
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. chocolate chips

Cream together sugars, eggs, and shortening. Sift together and add flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Add oats, vanilla and chocolate chips. Stir until blended. Drop walnut size dough onto cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 8-10 minutes.

This recipe came from my Grandma Sweeney. She used to make these cookies all of the time. She would freeze them and then thaw them when we came to visit. Yummy!
